Objectives

This 2 day class is for implementers of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 that are creating intranet and Internet publishing sites. Students who master the contents of this course will be well prepared to create custom publishing sites that support branding, authoring, and the management of Web content over time.

Each unit includes a hands-on lab. Each attendee receives a book of ~400pp and resources for all samples and labs.

Students who master the concepts in this course will be able to:

• Understand and use the MOSS publishing features
• Leverage the publishing infrastructure to create custom branding and customize the authoring experience
• Create and manage page layouts and content types
• Create and version custom publishing site definitions
• Design and manage site maps and hierarchies
• Enable Web Content Management, configure users and roles, target audiences and manage content deployment
• Configure and customize navigation and search functionality
• Aggregate information and analysis usage patterns

Experience

Some portions of this course assume an existing understanding of SharePoint, Web development, and .NET development experience.
